Description

How do you get foot warts?
Warts are caused by a virus that can be transmitted both through direct and indirect contact with infected skin. It is common to get warts on feet (plantar wart) and hands (palmer warts). Foot warts are especially common among kids in school and kindergarten. Warts are not dangerous but can be painful or troublesome, for example if they get larger or appear in inconvenient places. If the wart is raw, bleeding or appear somewhere else than on your hands and feet, see a doctor to get it checked out.

How can you prevent foot warts?
Avoid walking barefoot in public places such as fitness facilities, pools and locker rooms. Use shoes, flipflops or socks as much as possible to avoid catching the virus. Avoid borrowing towels and shoes from others. Avoid touching warts and wash your hands regularly.

Wart plasters – Do like this
Make sure that the skin is clean and dry before you apply the plaster. Apply the plaster before going to bed to allow the treatment to carry on without interference during the night.
Change plaster every 24 hours.
Repeat the treatment until the wart has disappeared, or for a maximum of 12 weeks.
